After the first exhibition in Zagreb in 2022, the ceramic herbalist art project "Earth to Earth" by ceramicist Marija Schwaiger Matišić and phytoaromatherapist and herbalist Sana Vitas, will be presented this summer in Cres, where it was originally created.

The most beautiful things happen spontaneously, and this project was conceived in Cres after an evening gathering of friends in love with Cres, which is not only their summer residence but they visit it all year round and consider it their second home. Ideas were exchanged on how to store and present wild medicinal plants, and yet leave them in their most natural environment - the earth.

A large part of the plants in the exhibition are Cres plants, and many ceramic vessels were created in Marija's Cres tavern. For 20 years, Marija has held many pottery workshops on Cres in cooperation with the Ruta Association, and Sana has been an active member of the association for 16 years, where she held photo exhibitions and presented a collection of short stories.
Ceramic art decorated with wild herbs in Marija's art and utility objects returns to its home - the earth. At the same time, it enriches the experience of preparing, consuming and storing wild herbs and herbal preparations of Vilinski potok.
Clay is shaped by water. Everything is created from earth and water, as is the pendant of the immortal immortelle that emerged from the stingy island land. The earth within the earth as a symbol of infinite creation.

We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition Earth to Earth" on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in Moise Palace in Cres, Zagrad 6.

Along with herbal surprises and refreshments, we hope that you yourself will feel part of the charm of this small ceramic and herbalist art project born out of love for nature, clay, herbs and the island.
The exhibition remains open until September 16, 2024.
Welcome and cheers!
