Exhibition: Life in Cres at the turn of the 20th century
After four centuries of Venetian rule, the nineteenth century brought a series of changes that affected the lives of the people of Cres. The centuries-old isolation was alleviated, a census and cadastre were drawn up, permanent shipping connections were established, schools were opened, but there was also the emigration (due to vineyard crisis) to overseas countries.
We can present and illuminate this part of Cres history very well thanks to the museum's collections, which contain furniture and everyday objects, as well as postcards and photographs from the turn of the century.
